Reconnoitring the Gallery

We visited the Showcase Gallery last month to get plans and see how it “feels”.  On the corner of Aberdeen and Beaufort Streets in Perth it’s  a handy place to get to.

Inside is a lovely high ceilinged space that, even without the lights on, has a lot of light in it.

We're thinking the long low window would be a great place for small 3D works!

Lots of adjustable lighting in the ceiling too.

There is a marvellous tutorial by well-known quilter Brenda Gael Smith at http://serendipitypatchwork.com.au/blog/2014/04/02/plan-exhibition-layout/on setting up an exhibition.

I'm working on a series of vessels in various yarns and wire at the moment. Hoping they will look good in that window! This is a snippet.

After checking out the gallery we talked Exhibition Titles over coffee.  Hallelujah!  We have one!!  Now we just all have to spend the next 6 months making art!
